Dear Commissioner Bosen:
We have been advised that it is necessary to renew the license which per-
mits the placement of trees in the Downtown area of the City of Saint Paul
which was originally granted in May of 1963.
. Pursuant to Chapter 264 of the Legislative Code, application is made here-
with for license to place and locate upon the sidewalks in the Downtown
area of the City of Saint Paul, living trees in pre-cast concrete planters,
which planters are 30 inches in diameter and 27 inches high. The trees
shall be of the type known as arborvitae.
The proposed location of the shade trees is the same as the plan for place-
ment of trees in the Downtown area as is on file in your office.
There is attached herewith and made a part of this application the Certifi-
cate of Insurance written through the Saint Paul Insurance Companies in
amounts meeting the minimum requirements of Section 264.06.
It is the understanding of this organization that pursuant to resolution
that consents of abutting owners or lessees will be waived in this matter.
It is further made a part of this application that the sponsoring agency is `
to provide full maintenance, including installation, repair, replacement and
removal of the_ aforesaid trees and planters. i
