06-799Suspension 8/23/06 Council File # 06-799 Green Sheet # 3 JO RESOLUTION 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 Presented WHEREAS, the Minnesota Depazhnent of Transportation (MnDOT) is solicirin� projecu to be funded under the Local Road Improvement Prog�am (NIN Statute 174.52); and WHEREAS, this solicitarion wffi awazd about $7.65 million of State �ant funding for municipal projects that meet the criteria for Routes of Rea onal Si�ificance; and _ WHEREAS, to be eligible for these fund the projecu must be submitted to 1VfiiDOT on or before September 1, 2006 and the submitting agency must be able to deliver a State approved project ready for letting by April 1, 2007; and WHEREAS, projects approved for Local Road Improvement Progam funding will require the submitting agency to provide a local match; and WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has reviewed the qualifying and ranking criteria and determined that the Payne Avenue, between Tedesco and Minnehaha, Streetscape and ReconstrucUOn project meets the criteria and has the best chance to receive funding. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council approves the Payne Avenue Streetscape and Reconstruction project to be submitted to MnDOT for review and possible funding. This solicitation will awazd about $7.65 million of State grant funding for municipal projects that meet the criteria � Routes of Regional Significance. To be eligible for these funds, the projects must be submitted to MnDOT on or before September 1, 2007. The submitting agency must be able to deliver a State approved project for letting by April 1, 2007, and the'subitting agency must provide a local match.
