The - property is zoned "Af1'residence. The applicant is seeking Council approval of a 17 foot building line setback to permit the erection of an 8' x 4' addition to the front of the existing dwelling. The established building line in the block is 25 feet and the residence now has a setback of 21 feet. It should / be pointed out that the applicant has submitted a letter of "approval from both of the adjoining owners., The Board of Zoning considered this matter at its regular meeting on July 23, 1964. The staff reported that it did not appear that the proposed addition would have a detrimental effect on the adjoin- ing properties and the granting of the appeal would not deviate sub- stantially from the purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance. In consideration of these factors, the Board of Zoning recommends the granting of the appeal as requested. The City Council granted an in- formal approval of this request on August 6, 1964.
