RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANTS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT
AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
FOR THE REMEDIATION OF THE SHOLOM HOME, CARLTON LOFTS,
JEREMIAH HOUSE, MINNESOTA BUILDING, AND
RIVER PARK LOFTS SITES
WIIEREAS, the City Council on May 10, 2006, by Resolution Number 06-450, authorized the Director of
the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Department of Employment and
Economic Development and the Metropolitan Council for grants to remediate the Sholom Home, Cazleton
Place Lofts, Jeremiah House, Minnesota Suilding, and River Pazk Lofts sites; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council approved four grants from its Tax Base Revitalization account of its
Livable Communities Program, $65,400 for the Carleton Place Lofts site, $79,500 for the deremiah House
site, $379,800 for the Minnesota Building site, and $207,000 for the River Park Lofts site; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) approved a$20,224
planning grant from its Contamination Cleanup Grant Program for the Sholom Home site; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.071 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby
certify that $731,700 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 200b budget
and recommends the following changes to the 2006 budget:
