I WIIEREAS, Saint Paul Pazks and Recrearion, in conjuncrion with the Deparnnent of Planning and Economic Deve]opment,
2 has been notified that they have qualified for gant funding from SlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota; and
4 WHEREAS, B]ueCross B]ueShield of Minnesota has made said gant funds available for city and courity governments to
5 incorporate active living principles into their comprehensive plans; and
WHEREAS, the amount of grant funding is to be negotiated with B1ueCross B1ueShield and will range from
$5,000 - $75,OQQ; and
10 WHEREAS, upon completion of negotiations on the amount of said grant an additional resolution will be brought forwazd
11 for consideration to amend Pazks and Recreation's 2006 operating budget as appropriate; and now

13 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute such
14 agreements as may be necessary to accept and implement this grant on behalf of the City.
