Whereas, The Department of Education desires to reroute certain public
sewers in Marshall Place and Iglehart Avenue to clear the site for the
construction of the new VOCATIONAL - TECHNICAL H.S. building, and,.
Whereas, The public sewers in Marshall Place and Iglehart Avenue will
be active until the Cathedral Area - Project I, is cleared of homes and
the streets are obliterated, thought to occur.sometime in 1965, and
Whereas, An adequate temporary sewer outlet for the sewers in Marshall
Place and Iglehart Avenue will be needed before construction at the school
site can begin, and
Whereas, The Department of Education consulting engineers and architects
designing the new VOCATIONAL- TECHNICAL H.S. have submitted plans and specifications
for rerouting the Marshall Place and Iglehart Avenue sewers, reconnecting these
to the sewer in Carroll Avenue, and .
Whereas, Said plans and specifications have -been reviewed and approved
by the Chief Engineer and Commissioner of Public Works and are in all things
acceptable, be it,
Resolved, That the Council hereby approves the plans and specifications
for the rerouting of the Marshall Place and Iglehart Avenue sewers by
constructing a temporary public sewer, and further, be it
Resolved, That when the public streets in the site of said school
construction are obliterated and the homes in the site have their sewer
connections abandoned, that the temporary public sewer shall hereby-revert
to the Department of Education as a private sewer intended for conveyance
of storm water from the building and parking lot.
