WHEREAS, The Board of Education of the City of
Saint Paul on September 15, 1964, adopted theifollowing resolution:
"RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the City
of Saint Paul hereby directs that a1vote be taken on the
question of conversion of Special District 2 of the
City of Saint Paul, State of Minnesota, to an independent
district; said vote shall be taken at a special election
to be held on the third day of November, 1964; and
requests the Council of the City of Saint Paul to concur
in its action and to proceed as required by law to
call such special election, to provide for the proper
.legal notice of the same and to further provide for the
conducting of such election, all in accordance with
the provisions of law applicable to such special
election; be -it
"FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board hereby requests
that the question to be included on the ballot at such
special election and in the notice of said election be
stated as follows:'
'Shall Special School District No. 2, State of
Minnesota, of the City of SaintiPaul, be converted
to and become an,;. Independent School District as
provided in Chapter 71, ArticleIII, Section 10,
Laws 1959, Extra Session, with limited taxing
and bonding powers as provided in said Statute ? "'

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the City Clerk shall prepare
a ballot stating the aforesaid question in thi manner prescribed
by law; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the City Clerk is hereby ordered
to give notice of said election in the manner provided by law,
and that the registration records on file in the Registration
and Election Bureau of the City Clerk's office be used as pro-
vided by law; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the said special election shall
be held in the 167 election precincts of the 12 wards of said
City; and I
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the polls at said special
election shall remain open during the hours provided by law,
and the polling places and the judges of said special election
shall be the same as those acting in said County and State
general election; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the proper City officers are
hereby authorized and directed to prepare the necessary printing,
stationery and election supplies, and to engagelthe necessary
labor and skill and purchase necessary tools and materials to
equip said polling places, the cost thereof, together with all
expenses of said election, including compensation of judges,
to be paid out of the Election Expense Account 6f the General
Fund; and

WHEREAS The Board of Education of the City of
