RESOLVED FURTHER, That the polls at said special election shall remain open during the hours provided by law, and the polling places and the judges of said special election shall be the same as those acting in said County and State general election; and RESOLVED FURTHER, That the proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to prepare the necessary printing, stationery and election supplies, and to engage the necessary labor and skill and purchase necessary tools and materials to equip said polling places, the cost thereof, together with all expenses of said election, including compensation of judges, to be paid out of the Election Expense ,Account of the General Fund; and RESOLVED FURTHER, That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give such notice and do whatever else is necessary for the submission of said proposed question at said special election in the manner prescribed by law. City Clerk: Amend See. 4 to read as follows: "Sec. 4. A general municipal election shall be held in the City of Saint Paul in the year 1966 on the last Tuesday in April and biennially thereafter." Amend Sec. 5 to read as follows: "Sec. 5. At the general municipal ; election in the year 1966•and quadrennially thereafter there shall be elected a mayor, a comptroller, and six councilmen, and the term of office of each of such officers shall be four years beginning with the first Tuesday in June next following their election, and until their•respe ctive successors shalll have been elected and qualified. At the general election in Ithe year 1952 there shall be elected two members of the B I iard of Education; at the general election in the year 1954 there shall be elected two additional members of the Board of Education, and at the general election in the year 1956 there shall be elected three additional members of the Board of Education, and the term of each of such officers shall be six years beginning with the first Tuesday in June next following his el`,ction and until his respective successor shall have been elected and qualified. There shall also be nominated and elected according to the provisions of law such justices of the peace and such constables as are by law pm vided, and from districts and in such manner as the laws direct." Delete Sec. 28(a) in its entirety. Amend Sec. 53 by striking out the first paragraph and inserting in lieu of said first paragraph the following: "The teen s of office of all office) rs elected under this Charter, except members of the Board of Education, Municipal Judges, Justices of the Peace and Constables, shall be four years and until their successors are elected and shall have qualified. Such terms shall date from the first Tuesday in June of each quadrennial general municipal electioneginning with the year 1966." Amend Sec. 113 to read as follows: "Sec. 113. On the first Tuesday I f June following the general municipal election in the yearll966,- or as soon thereafter as practicable, and quadrennially on the first Tuesday of June thereafter, the council, by ballot, shall elect from its members a vice-president and a second vice - president, yr l � � � t v .. each of whom shall hold office for a term of four years beginning with said first Tuesday and until their successors are elected. At the same time and for the same period or term and in the same manner, the council shall elect a city clerk, who shall hold office until his successor is elected and has qualified. °1� Amend Sec. 176 to read as follows: "Sec. 176. The Corporation Counsel shall be elected by the Council on the second Tuesday in July succeeding the general municipal election in the year 1966 and quadrennially thereafter. His term of office shall begin on the second Tuesday in August following his election and it shall be for four years and until his successor shall be elected and qualified." This amendment shall take effect and be in force January 1, 1965. l
