WHEREAS, the 2006 Visa Championships will draw 40,000 spectators (estimated total event attendance)
from a national audience; and
WHEREAS, NBC Sports will broadcast the championships live from Saint Paul to homes throughout
North America; and
W HEREAS, Rice Park will be featured as a featured focation for numerous gymnastics related events and
activities throughout the event;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Washington Street, between 4th and 5th Streets, be
temporarily co-named "Blackflip Boulevard," from August 16 - 19, 2006 and that appropriate street
signage should be placed at the intersection of 4th and Washington Streets by the Department of
Public Works.
