WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department, received a$80,00� grant donafion from Target
Corporation to support the Cold Case Unit; and
VVHEREAS, the City Council accepted this contriburion on June 14, 2006 (council file #06-555); and
WHEREAS, a 2006 financing and spending plan needs to be established for tlus donation; and
WEIEREAS, The Mayor pursuant to Section 10A7.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does
certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $80,000 in excess of those esfimated in
the 2006 budget; and
WHEREAS, The Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2006 budget:

The City Council accepted a$80,000 grant donation from Tazget Corporafion for the Cold Case Unit on June 14, 2006 (council file #06-
555) (see attached). A 2Q06 financing and spending plan needs to be established for this grant donauon. For more information

WHEREAS, the Target Corporafion is committed to giving back to communities in which they operate
stores through projects such as promoting early childhood education, family violence prevention, and
also through its Target and Blue program partnering to promote safe and healthy communities; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to assist the department in solving cold cases
and pursuing criminals; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council aceepts this generous donation and extends its sincere
thanks to Target Corporation for all its efforts in the community.
