In the Matter of condemning and taking for the proposed Van Buren Playgrounds by
the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings the following described
lots and parcels: Lots 1, 2, 41 61 7, 10 and 12, all in Kennedy's Subdivision of
part of Block 82 of L. Dayton's Addition to St. Paul, and in Block 82 of Lyman Dayton's
Addition to the City of Saint Paul the following: the West 50 feet of the East 350
feet of the North 134 feet; the North 50 feet of the East 100 feet; the South 43.6
feet of the North 137.2 feet of the East 100 feet; and the North 43.8 feet of the
South 87.8 feet of the East 100.feet.

under Preliminary Order 219977 approved September 15, 1964
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner, of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with. ,
2. That the nature of the improvement which -the Council recommends is
to condemn and take for the proposed Van Buren Playgrounds by the Department of Parks
and Recreation and Public Buildings the following described lots and parcels: Lots
1, 2, 41 6, 71 10 and 12, all in Kennedy's Subdivision of part of Block 82 of 4r
Dayton's Addition to St. Paul, and in Block 82 of Lyman Dayton's Addition to they
City of Saint Paul the following: the -West 50 feet of the East 350 feet of the North
134 feet; the North 50 feet of the East 100 feet; the South 43.6 feet of -the North
137.2 feet of the East 100 feet; and the North 43.8 feet of the South 87.8 feet of
the East 100 feet.

with no alternatives, • and that the estimated cost thereof is $ -15 x 000.00
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement' on the 5th day of
January, 1965 , at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of r.
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
