WI�,AS, The Commissioner of Finance has reported, in accordance
with S.ection 53 of the City Charter, the existec�ce of an emergency
during the period �rom January 16 through 31, 196F�, which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees of the Depastment of
Finance for more thaa eight hours per day or forty hours per week ir�
doing the follo�iz�g works spreading assessments and checking assess-
ment spreads and preparing auditor�s sepc�t, and briaging transfer
book records up to date; and _
T�HF�,AS, This emergeacy arose by reason of the following facts
, and circvmstances= tWO vacaricies in the Bureau of Receipts and Dis-
bursements and a shortage of experienced assessment clerks; .
THEREFL�RE, BE IT RESC�.VED That the prnper city officers are
hereby. authorized to.p�y the employees wl�o performed such �rork in
accordance with the provisions of the Co�pncil�s salary ordinaace,
Ordf�ce No. 6�l�6. _
