1 WHEREAS, the Mayor of Saint Paul from 2002 through 2005 elected retirement coverage from the
2 Minnesota Public Employee Retirement Association defined contribution plan on January 15, 2002; and
WHEREAS, the said Mayor has requested transfer from the defined contribution plan to the
defined benefit plan; and
7 WHEREAS, the City Council in Council File OS-1139 supported such transfer and the required
8 increased city contribution,and

10 WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Minnesota passed enabling legislation (Laws 2006,
11 Chapter 271) to allow former said Mayor to transfer from the defined conh level to the defined
12 benefit plan,

14 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves this
15 enabling legislarion and the City's share of this cost, $5,898.00.
