accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter� the exi.st-
ence of an emergency during the period from January l� 1964
to January 31� 196l�� which rendered necessazq the employment
of certain employees in the Department of Public Safety for
more than eight hours per day� or forty hours per week� in
doing the followlx� work:
Clerical work in the Bureau of Police
W�IiEREAS� this emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and, circumstances;
J�a.ck of personnel to type reports and keep cur-
rent records up to date.
TI�REF'ORE BE IT RF50LVED: That the proper city officers are
hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such
work in accordance with the provisions of the Councilts Sal-
ary Ordi.nance No. �6. •: Council Flle No. 216385—BY Robert F.

Resolved, That Rhe proper City offl-
cers are hereby authorized to pay cer-
tain,employes in the Department of
