4 WHEREAS, the American Lung Association recognizes Joy Carmona's nine years of service as iYs

7 WHEREAS, Joy was instrumental in establishing Minnesota's tobacco settlement endowment, and

9 WHEREAS, Joy worked on legislation to require that the staxe fleet use renewable fuels and to strengthen
10 the Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act, and

12 WHEI2EAS, Joy worked on legislation that allowed children to carry and use asthma inhalers and Epi-
13 Pens, and be it

15 RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council appreciates Joy's key role in providing information through
16 reseazch and data on second hand smoke and providing people to testify at hearings in support of the
17 smoking ban, and be it further
18
19 RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council recognizes Joy Carmona's service, dedication and hard
20 work on public health issues in Minnesota.
