Ward In the matter of the assessment of benefits, cost and expenses for
TR0601 (8199) Tenant remedy action rehabilitation for the property at 707 Prebble
during April 2006.
The assessment of benefits, cost and expenses for and in connection with the
above improvement having been submitted to the Council, and the Council having
considered same and found the said assessment satisfactory, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the said assessment be and the same is hereby in a11 respects
approved.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That a public hearing be had on said assessment on the 5th
day o£ July, 2006 at the hour of 5:30 P.M., in the Council Chamber of the Court House
and City Hall Building, in the City of St. Paul; that the Valuation and Assessment
Engineer give notice of said meetings, as required by the Charter, stating in said
notice the time and place of hearing, the nature of the improvement, and the amount
assessed against the lot or lots of the particular owner to whom the notice is
directed.

A new state law, entifled Tenant Remedies Action, provided authority for individuals and organizarions to seek court assistance in
facilitating the repaix of properties with numerous code vio]ations. The court appointed an administrator who perfoaned the necessary
repaus on t7ils property. The administrator Wen invoiced the Ciry for the cost.

The City will be able to recover the cost of repairing this condemned properiy and making it safe and habitable. The City also can
replenish iu fimds for futute rehabilitation work through the Tenants Remedy Action Program.
