WHEREAS, The Commisaioner of Public Works has reported, in
accordance witl� Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of
an emergency during the period from March �- to March 10, 1g6� �
which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of ,
the Depaxtment of Public Works for more than eight hours per day
or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Removing snow from city streets and sanding icy streets.
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances :
Necessity of ans�rering all emergency repair calls, keeping
city streets free from snow and ice.
TI�REFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are
hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work
in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary
