WHEREAS, The Milwaukee Road Short Line railroad track between St.
Paul and Minneapolis crosses W. Seventh St. near Grace St.,�tK.g�ade, and
WHEREAS, The existing crossing is controiled by standard railroad
signals mounted at the side of the roadway, and
WHEREAS, The trafftc volume on W. Seve�th St. at this location fs
app�oxirpately 15,000 vehlcles per day, and
WHEREAS, Nuraerous accidents have occurred at this lntersection, aad
WHEREAS, The City Traffic Comrnittee recormiends improvements to the
existing railroad signais, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the City Council requests that the Milwaukee Road
install overhead railroad signals in addltion to the existing signals
at this crossing. ,
