An Ordinance amending the Zoning Code,
Chapters 60 to 64, inclusive, of the Saint
Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to Use
Districts, Height Districts and Rezoning of
certain properties in the City of Saint Paul,
as amended. This is an emergency Ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of
the public peace, health and safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Zoning Code, Chapters 60 to 64,
inclusive, of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to
Use Districts, Height Districts, and Rezoning of certain pro-
perties in the City of Saint Paul, as.amended, be and the same
is hereby further amended -so as to rezone the following des
cribed property from "C" Residence District to Commercial
District, to -wit:
"East 20 feet of Lot 5, Block 2, L. T. Lawton's
Subdivision of Lot No. 8 of Kerwin's Outlots;"
situate on the south side of Iowa Avenue between White Bear
Avenue and Flandrau Street in the City of Saint Paul.
- Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be
an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health and safety.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force upon its passage, approval and publication.

Dear Sir:
This is in reply'to the referral of the petition of Fred-PS-Herring
to rezone from "C "- residence to commercial district property located
on the south side of Iowa Avenue between White Bear Avenue and Flandrau
Street described as the east 20 feet of Lot 5, Block 2, L. T. Lawton's
Sub
On October 20, 1964, the Commissioner of Finance reported the petition
sufficient with the owners of 16 of a possible 16 (1000) tracts of land
within the prescribed 100 foot radius having signed the petition. The
subject property is vacant, and it is proposed to combine it with the
adjoining property to the east which is zoned commercial, for the pur-
pose of constructing "a dental clinic.
The Board of Zoning considered this matter at its regular meeting on
October 22, 1964. The staff reported-that the proposed use was com --
patible with the existing area-uses, and in conformance with the
Comprehensive Land Use Plan,.` -In consideration of these factors, the
Board of Zoning recommends the granting_of_the petition to rezone the
above described property to a *commercial district. #
