An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 7607, entitled:
"An ordinance fixing the duties and responsibilities
and the minimum qualifications for the various classes of
positions in the Classified Service of the City,''
approved February 13, 1935, as amended. This is an emergency ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13,
1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking
out the title and specifications for "Water -Shed Foreman ", and by sub-
stituting in lieu thereof the following title and specifications for

Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to supervise water -shed laborers and others
assigned to him for the work of protecting, maintaining and
improving the lands and water-sheds and the supply and storage
works, forests, grounds and other properties of the Water
Department; and to perform related work as assigned.

Examples of work performed:
To have direct charge of personnel assigned to crews and work
projects.
To keep time records and progress reports and to promptly report
as to conditions of the properties and works, tools and equipment
as well as to observations and control of lake storage and• conduit
flows.
To oversee work of forest improvement and maintenance, including
new plantings, transplantings, clearing, thinning, trimming, and
fire breaks; and the eradication and control of land and water
weeds as well as insect pests.
To oversee work of maintenance, repair and improvement of
miscellaneous structures and works of the supply and storage
system, also of the rights of way, fences, roads, ditches,
drainage ways and works, etc.
Minimum qualifications:
Five years' experience as a water -shed laborer.

Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervision, to repair and repaint automotive and truck
bodies and fenders; and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To remove dents in automobile and truck bodies and fenders.
To file, grind, and sand dented or scratched areas on automobile
and truck bodies and fenders.
To repaint dented or scratched areas on automobile and truck
bodies and fenders.
To weld body parts, and replace wit- new parts when necessary.
To straighten and repair minor frame damage.
To correct door alignment.
To repair or replace door locks.
To fit glass to windows and windshields.
Minimum qualifications:
Eighth -grade education and four years' experience as a journeyman
auto body repairman.

forests, grounds and other properties of the Water Department;
and to perform related work as assigned.
Examples of work performed:
To assign personnel to crews and work projects and be responsible
for the performance of the work.
To be responsible for keeping adequate records of and prompt
reporting as to conditions of the properties and works, -tools
and equipment, observations and control of lake storages and
conduit flows, worker and equipment time and work progress.
To make simple tape line surveys and simple pencil diagrams
therefrom.
To be responsible for the work of forest improvement and maintenance
