W�iEREAS, i . Sheahan, then. Director of Laws of
the City of Saint Paul, and then a.n.d for many years next prior
thereto an Attorney and Coun.selor at Law, in both State and
Federal Courts� of high ability� merit, and distinction� a.nd
especially so with respect to the field of Municipal Law,
wherein he had attained, and long possessed and merited,
Nationwide recognition for his exceptionally high learning
and professional aptitude, on the 23rd day of September,
A. D. 1964, was summoned from this life by Almighty God,
after his extensive, prominent and cor� istently �ritorious
career in the Profession of Law� in Governmental Affairs, in
Civic, Religious, and Charitable fields wherein.y?his efforts
were ever effectively directed to the promotion of �ustice�
the security of our constitutional form of government, and the
alleviation of Y�uman stress, suffering, hardship a.n.d wa.nt and
rehabilitation of the disabled; and
WHEREAS, his demise has occasioned incalculable loss
to the City of Saint Paul and it� inhabitants, and a great
sense of deprivation and grief to his survivors, namely, his
-- --. daughter, Nlrs. Donald Sager, his sons� Louis P. Sheahan� Jr.
and Michael J. Sheahan., and to his relatives a.nd his legion
of friends, be it hereby �
RESOLVED, That the Couneil of the City of Saint Paul�
in its own behalf, and in behalf of the City of Saint Paul and
its inhabitants, hereby takes and records cognizance of the
aforesaid extensive, prominent, and consistently meritorious
caseer of the said Louis P. Sheahan. and of the many outstanding
achievements and suc�esses attained by him in handling the most
difficult, complex weighty and important of matters of litigation
involving the city� s interests� in permanent attestation thereof,
and egtends sympathy and condolence to his bereaved children,
and authorize�s and directs the Citp Clerk to provide for the
preparation of a.n engrossed copy of this Resolution for delivery
to members of Mr. Sheahanz s fa.mily, and to provide for the
preparation of copies of this i�esolution and delivery thereof
to Mrs. Donald Sager, Loui� P. Sheahan� Jr. and Michael J. Sheahan,
with all convenient speed.
