COMMISSIONE DATF -
WFIERF�S, That portion of York Avenue between Earl Street and Cypress
Street is platted and dedicated for street purposes; and
WAEREL�S, The western 270 feet of said portion o� York Avenue has been
filled and oiled by the ad�acent property owners on the north side of said
Avenue to the extent that it can now be considered traversable; and
WHERF�S, The City of St. Paul is responsible for the safety and pro-
tection of a11 persons and vehicles using traversab�:e thoroughfares on ,
public property; and
- WI�ERE�A.S, The Traffic Engineer of the City of St. Paul has exami.ned
said portion o� York Avenue and reco�ends, for the safety and welfare of
persons and property, that a post and cable guaxd fence be erected on the
top of �he bank and ad�acent to the south edge of the traversable thorough- .
fare on said portion of York Avenue; a.nd •
Wf�REAS, The costs of the erection of the post and cable guard fence,
. estimated to be $800, will be charged to Bridge Building-and Repair Fund,
' Code 0292-239; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the erection of the post and cable guard fence is
� hereby authorized and the Commissioner o� Public Works is directed to
� construct said post and cable guard fence; and be it {
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Co�nissioner of Public Works is directed
to notify the ad,jacent property owners on the north side of said Avenue
of the erection of the post and cable guard fence.
