1 Whereas, the City of Saint Paul Police Department has a request for proposal designed for projects to
2 increase community safety or reduce crime, and
4 Whereas, the projects should address a specific unmet need and have a lugh likelihood of unproving
5 community condirions, and
7 Whereas, the projects must be in parrnerslup with other groups and at least one oF the following City

of Saint Paul departments: police, libraries, license and inspecdons, or parks, and
Whereas, these projects will serve the pubtic purpose of reducing crime and/or improving community
safety, and
Whereas, the Mayor and Saint Paul CiTy Council support this request for proposals, and
Whereas, The Mayor pursuant to Section 10.071 of the Charter oS the City of Sain[ Paul, does
certify that there are funds available for appro�riation in the 2006 budget.
