PAUL COUNCIL OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK FILE IL RESOLN— GENERAL FORM nAYc WHEREAS, it is contemplated that a proposed new salary ordinance pertaining to city employees who are designated in the police group and fire group in section 6 of the Civil Service Rules Ordinance, Ordinance No. 3250 of the City of Saint Paul, will be considered by the Council of the City of Saint Paul; and WHEREAS, said proposed ordinance contemplates *a survey be made by the Civil Service Bureau of the City of Saint Paul relative to wage rates payable in private industry so that the _- Council may, as appropriate, adjust salary and wage rates -of the fire and police groups; and WHEREAS it is anticipated that such survey will necessitate a considerable amount of effort on the part of personnel of the 'Civil Service Bureau and will require a considerable period of ti before the results of the survey are known; and i WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Council of the City of Saint Paul to make such wage adjustments effective as of the first day of January, 1965, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED That the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby directs the Civil Service Bureau of the 'City of Saint Paul to conduct the wage and salary study as aforesaid; and be it FURTHER -, RESOLVED, That any increase in wage or salary for fire and police groups as determined by this Council based upon the aforesaid survey shall be effective as of January 1, 1965.
