; RESOLUED, That the Council of the City of $t. Paul hereby
takes cognizance of the pendency of certain proposed legislation
now before the Minnesota �egislature and embodied in House File
No. 5�0 and Senate File No. 308, relating to the construction,
improvement, and maintenance of streets, roads, and highways;
providing penalties; amending Minnesota Statutes 1961, Section 160.17;
and
FURTHER RES�LUE�., That the Council of the City of St. Paul
recognizes that if said proposed legislation is enacted, it �ill
interfere with the free and full application of municipal policy
and administration, it will create an obstacle to efficient and
expedi ent acoompl i shment of ;city c,onstructi on and m.ai ntenance work,
and will replace an adequate city policy with a rule which does not
bear a direct relationsliip to the characteristics of the work to
be done, and
FURTHER RESOtUED, That the Council of the City of St. Paul hereby
strongly opposes the enactment into laa� of said proposed leerislation and
urges the Ramsey County Delegations to the Legislature to_oppose
passage of said �egislation.
