NEIGHBORHOOD STAR INVESTMENT INITIATIVE FUNDS
FOR TAE LILYDALE TRAIL PROJECT

WHEREAS, on March 15, 2006 and April 19, 2006, the Neighborhood STAR Board reviewed a proposal
submitted by the Friends of Lilydale; and
WHEREAS, the proposal will establish a hiking trail to connect the top of the bluff, near Cherokee Park to
the lower Lilydale Park; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Saint Paul City Council to participate in the financing of these activities
by providing $30,000 from the Ward 2 Neighborhood Initiative Investment Program allocation; and
WHEREAS, because this public improvement pro}ect is of substantial community significance, a waiver of
the STAR Guidelines in regard to the ma'tching fund requirements is recommended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that upon the recommendation of the Mayor, pursuant to
Section 10.07.4 of the City Charter, the City Council does hereby amend the 2006 budget for the N.I.I.P.
program in the following manner:
