WHEREAS, the City Council passed an overtime ordinance, an
amendment to Ordinance No. 3250, effective January 1, 1965, indicating its
intention to allow deviations from the general overtime rules, under Section 1
of Ordinance No. 12854, Council File No. 220541, which states in part:
44To meet unusual conditions, and in the case of certain seasonal
employees whose total yearly hours do not exceed 2088, upon
request of the department head, a different schedule may be
established for particular groups of employees with the approval
of the Civil Service Commissioner and approval of the Council
by resolution."
and,
WHEREAS, unusual conditions exist in the Bureau of Auditorium,
since employees in the Auditorium work by the performance rather than by
the hour,'- day, or week; and since they work many performances during the
theater se; .son and have few performances during the sur mer; and since

theater •union contracts call for rates per performance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: that the overtime provisions of Ordinance No. 3250
(Section 9 B 2) shall not apply to part -time employees nor to stage employees
at the St. Paul Auditorium; and be it further
