BY ADDING A SUBDIVISION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LLGISLATURE OF THE STATL OF MINi4LSOTA:

Section 1. Laws 1955, Chapter 151; Section 9, is amended
by adding a subdivision to read:

Subd. 9. Any member with ten years or more of service
with the bureau of police of the city of Saint Paul, who is elected to

bffice in said city or .` -canted to a position not in .the classified service

in said city, may remain an active member while in one or the other of
the aforesaid positions for a period ofltime not in excess of the years of
said member's active service with the Saint Paul bureau of police and
I
subject to the provisions of this act as if he were on active duty with
I .
said bureau of police.
Sec. 2. Any member who qualifies under Section 1 hereof may
contribute to the pension fund an amount equal to what he would have con-
tributed had he remained on duty with said bureau of police from and
after June 1, 1960 and triereby increase his period of membership.
Sec. 3. This act shall become effective only after its approval
b2 a� majority of the governing body of 'the city of Saint Paul and upon
compliance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section 645.021.
