Holland — Resolved, That the proper City offi- cers are, hereby authorized to pay cer- tain employes in the Department of Water for extra employment as de- scribed in the resolution. Adopted by the Council January 15, 1964. Approved January 15, 1964. (January 18, 1964) WHME,A.S, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter the existence of an emergency during the period from January 1, to January 15th, 1964 inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: (1) Repairing equipment, various stations. (2) Working extra shifts, various locations. (3) Driving country crew to and from work. (4) Snow removal, various locations. (5) Repairing water main breaks. (6) Replacing water meter at a factory before 8:00 a.m. AND WH MEAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: (1) Necessary to do work during low consumption hours. (2) Absence of employees on regular shifts. (3) On account of scattered work locations. (4) Necessary to remove snow on weekends. (5) In order to put water mains in service as soon as possible. (6) Necessary to change meter while plant was not in operation. THFREFRRE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's Salary Ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
