WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of
an emergency during the period from December,161to December 31, 1963
which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of
the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day
or forty hours per week in doing the following work:
Taking care of complaints at city yards.
Drawing plans and specifications for grading and paving jobs.
Mimeographing grade profiles and revising house numbers.
Making up sidewalk assessment reports.
Inspecting city contract improvement jobs.
And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following
facts and circumstances:
Necessity of taking complaints at city yards, completing
plans and specifications for grading and paving jobs, need for grade
profiles and house numbers, completing sidewalk assessment reports
and inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work.
