Legislative Code pertaining to Building Construction
The Council of the City of Saint Paul does Ordains
Section 1
That Section 8.04 Live Loads is hereby amended by deleting
subsection 3 Floor Loading Storage Garages, which reads as follows:
3., Floor Loading, Storage Garages
a. The floor loading in all passenger car storage garages
shall be seventy (70) pounds per square foot live load except
the first floor which shall be designed for one hundred (100)
pounds per square foot.
b. The beam, column, and footing loading from all floors
where the seventy (70) pound load is used shall be considered
as fifty (50) pounds per squAfe foot live load.
c. All floor slabs or floors shall be so'designed as to
be able'to carry a concentration of fifteen hundred (1500)
-pounds located at any point, this fifteen hundred (1500) pounds
not to be considered in addition to the seventy (70) pounds
per square foot but to be considered as being able to resist
the fifteen hundred (1500) pound concentration located at any
point, and seventy (70) pounds per square foot when the concen=
tration' does not occur.
and add the following in lieu thereof: r

be reduced to thirty k30� pounds per square foot live load.
c. All floor slabs or floors shall be designed so as to
be able to carry a concentrated load of two thousand '(2000)-
pounds placed upon any space one foot square located at any
point. This two thousand (2000 pounds is not to be consider-
ed in addition to the fifty (50� pounds per,square foot live
load.
d. The maximum clear ceiling height for storage garages
in areas where a design floor loading of fifty (50) pounds per
square foot is used shall be eight and one -half (81/2) feet.
Section 2
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty
days from and after its passage, approval and publication.
