RESOLUTION
OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA �O

RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE ASIAN PACIFIC CULTURAL CENTER
4 WHEREAS, the Asian population is one of the fastest growing and most diverse minority groups in the
5 State and it is important for Minnesota to develop a place to celebrate and preserve the rich history of its
6 many Asian Cultures; and,
8 WHEREAS, an Asian Pacific Cultural Center which focuses on culture, tradition and education will
9 facilitate understanding between Asian and non-Asian communities which ca11 Minnesota home; will serve
10 as a cultural bridge between generations; and will provide an accessible and affordable home for cultural
11 organizations that reflect Minnesota's Asian Pacific Community; and
12
13 WHEREAS, construction of and programming at an Asian Pacific Cultural Center will lead to an
14 improvement in the lives of Minnesota's Pan-Asian Community and a11 Minnesota Residents;
15
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul supports the Asian Pacific Cultural
17 Center project and will work in partnership with the Cultural Center to refine their plans and develop an
18 appropriate location within the City; and
19
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul supports the Asian Pacific Cultural Center's
21 State bonding request for funds to plan and develop the Cultural Center.
