WHEREAS� we would wish wherever possible to celebrate
, Halloween on the occasion itself; Y�owever� this year Halloween
falls on a Sunday� and such celebration would inter�ere wi�h
Church activities; and

'WHEREAS� it is therefore proper to name another date
for the benefit of the children o�' this community for their
celebration of Halloween and thetr custom�ry method of
celebrating� that is, the dispensing of "tricks" or the
_ collection of "treats" ; and
WHEREAS� a.n, appropriate date for such celebra�ion would
- be the Saturday preceding Halloween� s�.nce the day following
would not be a school day for all the little "ghosts" and �'goblins" �
now� therefore� be it
RF�OLVED� That the Council of the City of �Saint Paul
hereby proclaims Saturday� October 30� as "Tricks and Treats
Night" in the City of Saint Paul� for the celebration of °
Halloween this year by the children of the community.
