They listed various reasons for their request including the following: 1. There is a rather severe grade on this one block of Grand re- sulting in a sight distance hazard for children in the area. 2. A one -way designation would reduce the number of "hot rodders" traveling up the hill. 3. A one -way designation would simplify the Grand and Oakland in- tersection. The Fire Department indicated no objection to the proposal. After discussion at two separate meetings, the Traffic Committee recommended approval of the one -way designation. Although it does not strongly object to the proposal, the Traffic Bureau feels the conditions cited by the residents do not warrant a one - way designation, and the Traffic Bureau is concerned about the possible precedent that could be established.
