An Ordinance amending the Zoning Code,
Chapters 60 to 64 inclusive of the Saint
Paul Legislative Bode, pertaining to Use
Districts, Height Districts and Rezoning of
certain properties in the City of Saint Paul,
as amended. This is an emergency ordinance
rendered necessary for the preservation of the
public peaces health and safety.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Zoning Code, Chapters 60 to 64,
inclusive,, _of - the -- -Saint - Paul Legislative Code, pertaining -to--
Use Districts, - Height Districts, and Rezoning-of certain-
properties in the City of Saint Paul, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended so as to rezone the following
described property from "B" Residence District to Light Industry
District, to -wit:
i'E4ccegt the west 25 feet, Lots 16 172 18, Town
Block 1, Greens Akddition to the City of St. Paul ;"
situate on property located east of Rice Street between Acker
and Sycamore Streets immediately west of the north -south alley
Ja Town Block 1,- Greens edition to the City of St. Paul,
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be
an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health and safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force upon its passage, approval and publication.

Dear Sir:
This is in reply to•the referral of the petition of Ernest and
Dagmar Berget to rezone from "B" residence to light industry
district property described as except the west 25 feet, Lots 16,•
17, 18, Town Block 1, Green's Addition- ._'This property is east
of Rice-Street between Acker and Sycamore Streets immediately L�
west of the north - south. alley in Town Block 1, Green s ddition. "Ib
�7"
On April 28, 1965, the Commissioner -of Finance reported the
petition sufficient with the owners of 18 of a possible 25 (727o)
tracts of land within the prescribed 100 foot radius having signed
the petition. It is proposed to develop the site with a welding
shop as indicated on the petition.
The Board of Zoning considered this 'matter at its regular meet-
ing on May 6, 1965. The staff reported that the proposed rezoning
is in accord with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan which indicates
the highest and best usewof the Idnd'in,this area is for industrial
use, and that the proposed use would be compatible with the area
uses.
In consideration of these factors, the Board of Zoning recommends
the granting of the petition to rezone the above described pro-
perty to a light industry district.
