1 WHEREAS, Wally and Rosie Wescott have given many years of their lives in service to their community;
2 and
WHEREAS, both of them have committed many yeazs working for Saint Paul Pazks and Recreation and
volunteered coaching youth and various sports; and
WHEREA5, Wally taught for 25 yeazs at 5aint Luke's Grade School and coached many well-known
ballplayers, including Dennis Denning, Bob Dick, Lany Paradise, Paul Molitor, and Jack Morris, and
numerous others; and

I 1 WHEREAS, the last 29 years, Wally has been the proud owner of Wescott Station Antiques, is an active
12 member of the West Seventh Boys Club, and has also been inducted into the Saint Paul Mancini's Hall of
13 Fame; and

I S VJHEREAS, Rosie has been instrumental in securing funds for needy families in Saint Paul and providing
16 a home for young folks in need; and

18 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Council wishes to thank Wally and Rosie Wescott for their many contributions
19 to the City of Saint Paul;

21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council declares Wednesday, May 24,
22 2006 to be WalZy and Rosie Wescott Day in the City ofSaint Paul.
