OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK FILE O NCIL RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM BY COMM 55010NE DATE December 29, 1965 RESOLVED, That the Council hereby approves the award of the Purchasing Committee therefor and hereby awards contract for furnishing and delivering approximately 1200 tons, more or less according to requirements, West Virginia Splint 1 -1/4" Stoker Coal to Old Ancker Hospital, Grace and Colborne Streets, St.Paul, Minn. to GREAT LAKES COAL & DOCK COMPANY in accordance with specifications therefor hereto attached and the Formal Bid #1562 of `said Great Lakes Coal & Dock Company at $14.12 per ton, making total amount of contract approximately $16,944.00, such bid being the lowest and said bidder being a reasonable and reliable one and the Corporation Counsel be and hereby is authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Saint Paul. Ames, the City Architect, having requested the City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints about the ex- pense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in removing a dangerous structure at 537 -9 Carroll Avenue, more particu- larly described as: East 40 feet of Lot 19, Block 2, Wilson's Rearrangement of a part of Marshall's Subdivision of Block 27, Mackubin & Marshall's Add. to St. Paul, the City Council held a public hearing on December 17, 1965, to consider the expense and to confirm the amount thereof, and Whereas, It appears that the City Council, pursuant to C. F. No. 221140, approved December 18, 1964, published December 26, 1964, set a public hearing to consider removing the dangerous: istructure, and the City Council by C. F. No. 221485, approved January 15, 1965, ipublished January 23, 1965, ordered the (wrecking by and at the separate cost ,and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof, and the City Council by C. F. No. 222096, approved February 26, 1965, published March 6, 1965, directed the Commis- sioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings to enter upon the premises and wreck and remove the building thereon and do any and all things therein necessary for the pro- tection of life, limb and adjoinin property, and that the City of Sain Paul has incurred the expense o $2,234.66 in removing said structure and Whereas, It appears that Mari Louise, Bruckner, 216 South D Street; Robert A. Gearin, Attorney W -1152 First National Bank Building Mrs. Edna Ryan, 342 Pleasant Avenues all of Saint Paul, Minnesota, are the owners of the premises; be it Resolved, That we, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, do hereby confirm the amount of $2,234.66 to be the fair, true, and reasonable amount for such services incurred in removing the dangerous structure; and be it Further Resolved, That the City Clerk be directed to file in the office of the Register of Deeds for the County of Ramsey a statement of expense in- curred by the City for the purpose of securing a lien on the property, pur- suant to the Building Code, Sec. 1.07 rof the St. Paul Legislative Code.
