RESOLVED, That Robert W. Johnson, owner of the subject
real estate, hereby is permitted to install and operate a 40 -car
off- street parking facility accessory to a 30 -unit apartment
building on property on the west side of Farrington Street
between the Northern Pacific Railroad right -of -way and Cottage
Avenue, more particularly described as follows:
The South 121 feet of the North 236 feet of-Lot
217 Cottage X9PM;- .
in accordance with plans to be approved by the Planning Board
staff and the City Traffic Engineer, pursuant to standards set
out in the Zoning Code and Building Code, subject to the condition
that said applicant - permittee and its successors and assigns
shall make due compliance with all applicable provisions of
municipal ordinances, State statutes, and rules and regulations
of public authorities having cognizance.

The City Council requested that you prepare a resolution granting
the attached application of Robert W. Johnson for a permit to install
and operate a 40 -car off - street parking facility on property on the
west side of Farrington St. between the Northern Pacific Railroad
right -of -way and Cottage Ave., described as the south 121 feet of
the north 236 ft. of Lot 21, Cottage Homes Add -i-t on•, subject to
the applicant's providing a decorative fence or screen planting
in the eight -foot buffer strip along the southern boundary of
the subject property.

Dear Sir:
This is written in response_'to the referral of the application
of Robert W. Johnson for a permit to install and operate a 40-
car off - street parking facility accessory to a 30 -unit apart-
ment building located on the west side of Farrington Street
between the Northern Pacific Railroad right -of -way and Cottage
Avenue. The property is described as the south 121 feet of
the north 236 feet of Lot 21, Cottage Homes Addition and is
zoned "C" residence. The site has a frontage of 121 feet along
the west side of Farrington Street and a depth of 296.18 feet
resulting in an area of approximately 35,837 square feet.
At the October 8, 1965 Board of Zoning meeting, the staff
reported -that the Traffic Engineer has reviewed the plan and
recommends approval. The plans meet the design standards sub-
ject to a revision. The proposed development meets the density
and lot coverage requirements.
Based upon the above considerations the Board of Zoning recom-
mends the approval of the permit to install and operate a 40-
car off - street parking facility subject to the applicant pro-
viding a decorative fence or screen planting 'in the eight foot
buffer strip along the southern boundary of subject property.

Council Chambers of the City Hall and Court House in the City of
St. Paul at 10:00 a.m. on December 9, 1965, on the application of
Robert W. Johnson for a permit to install and operate a 40 -car
