WHEREAS, the Ciry of Saint Paul, Parks and Recreation held the Golde� Bloom Awazds Ceremony at the Como Zoo
and the Mazjorie McNeety Conservatory on January 2i, 2006 to award those who have helped to beautify the Ciry of Saint Paul
through their gardening efforts; and
� WHEREAS, 107 people attended the ceremony including; Saint Paul Garden Club members, master gazdeners, award
6 winners, residential gardeners, the Mayoy Directory of Pazks and Recreation, Parks Commissioq and city staff; and

WHEREAS, the Ciry of Saint Paul, Pazks and Recreation has received a donation from the Pioneer Press in the aznount of
$1,400 to be used towazds the cost of providing food and beverage at the Golden Bloom Awards Ceremony; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Pazks and Recreation wil] pay for the remaining cost of the food only, not to exceed $500; and
WHEREAS, Pazks and Recreation wishes to accept this generous contribution, and establish a financing and spending plan; a�d
WHEREAS, the Mayoy pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there aze
available for appropriation, funds of $1,400 in excess of those estimated in the 2006 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following additions be made m the 2006 budget:
