2 WHEREAS, adverse action was taken against the Second Hand Dealer — Motor Vehicle license
3 held by L& J Auto, Inc., d/b/a L& J Auto, Inc., (License ID#20040005294) for the premises located at
4 1365 Pierce Butler Route in Saint Paul by Nofice of Intent to Suspend License dated November 3, 2006,
5 alleging license cancelled the required Unifortn License and Permit Bond effecrive August 4, 2006; and

7 WI3EREAS, the licensee did respond to the Notice of Intent to Suspend License to contest the
8 allegafions or submit the Uniform License and Permit Bond far the period of August 4, 2006 through
9 Februazy 9, 2007 with no lapse in coverage; and

WHEREAS, the Notice of Intent to Suspend License stated that if the iicensee failed to contest the
allegations or submit tke Uniform License and Permit Bond by November 13, 2006, that the matter would
be placed on the consent agenda to impose the recommended penaity; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Second Hand Dealer — Motor Vehicle license held by L& J Auto, Inc., d/b/a
L& J Auto, Inc., is hereby suspended.

Dear SirlMadam;
The Office of License, Inspacfions and Environmenfal Protection has xecommended
suspension of the Second Hand Dealer - Motar Vehicle license held bq L& J Auto, Tnc., cVb/a
L& J Auto, Inc. far the premises located at 1365 Pierce Butler Route in Saint Paul. Tke basis for
the recommendation is as follows:
On September 22, 2006, you were sent a Tetter from the Office o£ License,
Inspections and Environmental Protection stating that the bond for your
Second Hand Dealer-Motor Vehicle had been cancelled effective August 4,
2006. You were asked to submit a Uniform License and Permit Bond in the
amouttt of $5,000 for the period of August 4, 2006 through Fabruary 9, 2007
with no lapse in coverage.
You were given unti� October 5, 2006, to submit this informafion. As of
today's date, thaf information has not been received.
At tIus time, you have three options on how to proceed:
1. You can submit the Uzu£arm License and Pernut Bond for $5,000 to the Offzce of
Lieense, Inspeetions and Envlronmental Protection at 8 Fourth Street East, Suite
200, St. Paut, Mixinesota 55101-1002 no Iater than Mouday,ldTOVember 13, 2066.

2. If you wish to have a public hearing before tha Saint Paul City Council, yon urill
need to send me a letter with a statement admitting the facts and requestittg a
public hearing. We wi2l need to receive your Ietter by Monday, November 13,
2006. The matter will then ba scheduted before the City Council for a public
heazing to determine whether to suspend your license. You will liave an
opportunity to appear before the Council attd make a statement on your own
behal£
Lf you no longer wish to do business in the City of Saint Paul, you may send a
written statement to that effect to the Office of License, Inspections and
Environmentai Protection, 8 Fourth Street East, Suita 200, St. Paul, Miunesota
55101-1002 no Iater than Moaday, November 13, 2006. Information should be
directed to the attention of Christine Rozek.
If you have not contacted me by that date, I will assume that you do not contest the
suspension of your license.
