RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE MAYOR'S ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR PEOPLE WITH
DISABILITIES FOR ITS WORK TO IMPROVE THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council Chambers was conshucted between 1930 and 1932, and is on the list
of national hisioric sites; and
WHEREAS, all renovation efforts over the 75+ years has respected the historic azchitecture and artifacts of the
Chambers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council saw the need to upgrade the Chambers in order to provide residents and visitors
in wheelchairs with access to the podium and visibility when speaking to the Ciry Councii Members; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor's Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities worked tirelessly with Mehrshad
Parsakalleh, Building Services Manager, and the Property Management staff to identify solutions that work well
for those in wheelchairs while respechng the historic mtea ity of the Chambers; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the City Council wants to recognize the Mayor's Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities
for its leadership, commitment, and guidance on the improvements made to the City Council Chambers that
resulted in greater accessibility for all residents and visitors in wheelchairs.
