1 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has sought grants from the F. R. Bigelow Foundation and The Saint Paul

WHEREAS, the F. R. Bigelow Foundation has awarded a grant of $250,000 and The Saint Paul Foundation has
awarded a grant of $300,000 to the City of Saint Paul for planning consultants and community engagement staff
needed for the design and implementation of the Central Corridor Development Strategy; and
WHEREAS, these grants aze multi-yeaz awards and the grant disbursements scheduled for 2006 are $1�O,�OQ from
the F.R. Bigelow Foundation and $150,000 from The Saint Paul Foundation; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the City Charter, does certify that upon acceptance of the
grants there are funds of $25Q000 available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2006 Budget
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the following changes to the 2006 Budget:

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul,
hereby accepts and acknowledges the assistance of the foundations in the Central Corridor Initiative; and
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council approves these changes to the 2006 Budget.
