WHEREAS, Funds provided for Winter Street Maintenance are exhausted,
and �
WHEREAS, It is imperative that the Department of Public Works proceed
immediately to purchase the necessary sand and salt and to mix and stockpile
the same and to prepare the trucks and other equipment for the mounting of
snow plows and to repair and replace snow blades broken last winter, and
WHEBEAS, Emergency borrowing under Cha�ter Section 206 is made necessary ' _
to secure funds for this purpose, �
BE IT RESOLVED, That the Mayor and Comptroller be and they.are hereby
authorized and directed to borrow a sum not to exceed One Hundred and Ninety-
Five Thousand Dollars ($195,000) and to execute and deliver to the party or
parties making the loan a promissorq note payable to sach party or parties,
bearing interest at the rate not exceeding five percent (57a) per annum, said
note to be payable one year from date of execution thereof, and be it,
FIIRTHER RESOLVED, That the funds so borrowed be credited to the Emergency
Winter Street Maintenance Fund, Activity Code 0254 R, all of the said Fund to
be expended for the purchase of sand and salt and the mixing and stockpiling of
the same and• for preparing the trucks and other equipment for the mounting of
snow plows and for the repairing and replacing of snow blades broken last
winter.
