This is in the matter of the appeal of Philip Cormican to enlarge
an existi.ng nursin� home facility on property located adjacent to
the northeast -ca'�r�ner�o hnson Parkway, McLean Avenue and Point - �
Douglas Road, The property is zoned `�C�� residence and is described
as that part of Lot 3 lying south of the southerly R/W line of High-
way #12 and that part of Lots 6 and 7 lying east of the east line
o� Johnson Parkwayr Block 33, Suburban Hills Add. and.that part of
vacated Pacific 3t. therein ex. the Ely 55t thereof, and Lot 9, Block 33
S�iburban Hi11s. The property is zoned "C�� residence.
It is proposed to construct a three-story, 180 bed Boardingwcare
unit addition on Lot 9 to- the present Nursing Home facility adjacent
� to the north which would increase the bed capacity to a total of 300.
The. Board of Zoning considered. thi,s matter� at its regular meeting
on �July�l, 1965. -. The �staff-reported that the�proposed enlargement
would constitute a compatible use with the existing uses in the axea, -
and that additional off-street parking would be provided as soon as
the building was completed. R�. �� .
In consideration oftthese'�factors, the Board of Zoning recommends the
� granting of the appeal to enlarge the existing nursing home facility
on the above described property. ' '
