OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLUTION-GENERAL FORM �RESENTED BY Rosen COM M I S51 ON E � DATE < WHEREAS, At the intersection of T.H. 280 and Kasota Avenue in Saint Paul the southbound to eastbound and westbound to southbound left turns have been permitted on a temporary basis pending full completion of T.H. 280 and Kasota Avenue interchange, and WHEREAS, The traffic volume on this portion of T.H. 280 now exceeds 20,000 vehicles per day and this volume together with the traffic volume on Kasota Avenue a{�pears, in the opinion of the Traffic Engineer, to be hazardous and to be creating excessive delay, and � WHEREAS, An abnormal number of accidents involving left-turn movements at the said intersection have been occurring, and WHEREAS, The City Traffic Committee, at its meeting on August 26, 1965, recommended the closing of the center island on T.H. 280 and the elimination of the said teft turns, and WHEREAS, Alternate routes are available to the traffic formerly making the said left turns, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the City Cou`ncil hereby concurs in and approves the prohibition of the said left turns and the closing of the said center island on a tri al bas i s, and ' � BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this concurrence and approval of the City Council be transmitted to the District Engi'�eer of District 9 of the Minnesota Highway Department. � - � SEP 101965 � � COUNCILMEN.
