PAUL couNCi� �� '�' OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK FILE NO COUNCIL RE UTI —GENERAL FORM � ►RESENTED EY COMMISSIONE ' � ` DATF `/� ��/ . `-'�,1� WHEF�EAS, this Council, by Council File 221577, adopted January 20, 1g65, directed the Corporation Counsel to make written complaint and petition for relief to the $ailroad and Warehouse ' Commission from a dangerous railroad highway crossing at West Seventh Street, Celtic��+n� and �ichmond Avenues, where the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific �ailroad Company track crosses such streets; and WHEFiEAS, pursuant to said Eesolution, the Corporation Counsel prepared a complaint of dangerous crossing and filed it with the �ailroad and Warehouse Commission, whereupon the Commission ordered a hearing to be held and issued its order April 12, 1965; and WHE�EAS, the provisions of said order calling for temporary modification of Wes� Seventh Street, pending ultimate construction of a grade separation--requiring the installation of a raised median island with minimum width of six feet along the center line of West Seventh Street, extending approximately from Erie Street to west of Bichmond Street--would require a ban on parking on West Seventh -- - Street to the detriment of ad�oining commercial property owners who have appealed to the Council; �and WHEKEAS, it is the consensus of the Council that the installa- tion of center islands would be an undesirable impediment to traffic flow and therefore a different arrangement shoulc� be sought; now therefore, be it • • ' fiESOLVED, that the Corporation Counsel be directed to petition . to the Aailroad and Warehouse Commission for a modification of its order concerning the necessity and advisability of center islands . „ along and upon West Seventh Street and that a certified copy of this �esolution be sent to the gailroad and Warehouse Commission. � ROVED � � COLTNCILD�N � A5� �Tporation �0�� Adopted by the Council S�P � 0' 196�is- � Yeas Nays �� a 19� � Dalglish , {. o�� rove 19— Loss _ � Tn Fav01' .
