Working Group on Environmental Sustainability Addendum
WI the City of Saint Paul promotes and encourages environxnental stewardship to enhance the quality of
life for its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paint City Council has established the Working Group on Environmental Sustainability to
research and advocate environmentally friendly practices; and
WHEREAS, the Working Group on Environmental Sustainability seeks to assemble representarives from every City
department to coordinate "green" efforts that benefit the cirizenry; and
WHEREAS, the Worldng Group on Environmental Sustainability will review both the City's Urban CO2
Reduction Plan and Comprehensive Plan and formulate recommendations to strengthen each plan's
effectiveness; and
WHEREAS, the Working Group on Environmental Sustainability seeks to establish an idenrity that represents the
essence and spirit of City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul understands the importance of community involvement in the policy-making
process and has solicited citizen feedback through the Saint Paul Environmental Roundtable; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul Warking Group on Environmental Sustainability, shall be renamed
Sustainable Saint Paul; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that Sustainable Saint Paui will include a representative from the Office ofthe Mayor and
the Saint Paul Port Authority; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul will embrace the upcoming recommendations from the Saint
Paul Environmental Roundtable and will seek to use this community input and their own review of existing policies
and plans for future policy recommendations.

City staff with expetience and abIIifies in the area of envimnmenYal snstainab�7ity and aay experts in the field 4at
they chose to inciude. City employees on tfie worldn$ group will 6e recommended by ffie direc[ois of various Ciry
