Memorandum
CITY OF SAINT PAUL
January 2, 1998
TO
FROM:
AIl Fire Prevention and Code Enforcement Staff
Fire Marshall Steven Zaccard and Chazles Votel "' -
SUBJECT: Joint Fire Prevention and Code Enforcement Division Conference
January 23, 1998, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Science Museum Penthouse
All employees aze asked to respond to the attached two-page questionnaire. The first
part relates to organizational issues and the second part to personal work issues. These
responses will be reviewed and compiled to form the basis of discussion for the
conference. Attached to this questionnaire are district assignment maps and
organizational charts for each division.
Chief Fuller and Assistant Chief Trudeau have challenged all employees to take an
active role in these discussions. Many decisions will be made over the next year as we
explore such things as co-location, merging of inspection functions, streamlining of
support functions, clerical efficiencies, computer support, communications,
policies/procedures, supervision, transfer and advancement for program personnel and
many associated issues. This is not only an opportunity to improve the services our
programs provide, but also an opportunity to improve our own professional work lives.
Please give this some serious thought and retum the questionnaire to us by Wednesday,
January 14, 1998. Thank you.
