Hon. Council
City of Saint Paul
Gentlemen.:
We have a file dating back to January 1, 1962 relative to the
9 unit apartment building at 604 -6 -8 South Robert Street, also
described as South 2 feet of Lot 1, North 15 feet of Lot 3,
all Lot 2, Lange's Rearrangement of Block 111, West Saint Paul.
This building is two stories, 72 by 50 b 20, of brick and
frame construction, located at the lot line in a B Residence
District. The building originally contained two stores and
two apartments, but during the years was altered so that it
now contains nine apartments. Heating, plumbing and electrical
installations are inadequate. The building is considered sub-
standard. Floors and partitions are badly sagged. Brick are
falling from the exterior walls. The building should be repair-
ed or wrecked and removed.
The last known record owner is Judson C. Hilton, 1623 Univer-
sity Avenue and the contract purchaser was Kenneth Tschida,
R R 1, South Saint Paul. Danger Notices have been posted.
Kindly institute condemnation action in accordance with Sec-
tion 1.07 -2 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, by setting a
public hearing date.
