WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul, by
Council File No. 23709, Ordinance No. 5020, the 1919 Budget
Ordinance, established as a part thereof a revolving fund
designated the "Bridge Building Revolving Fund" established
for the repair of bridges where the cost is recoverable from
railroad corporations or others, and appropriated the sum of
$351000 to such fund; and
WHEREAS, the Budget appropriations for 1920 reduced
said fund by $12,500 because of tax delinquencies, leaving a
balance r6main.ing in such fund of $22,500; and
WHEREAS, said fund remained a budget account at the
$229500 figure until December 31, 1939; and
WHEREAS, on January 1, 1940 a journal entry designated,
"Opening Entry - Purpose of reclassification of special and
revolving funds" for the year 1940 transferred this account,
along with several others which were reclassified; and
WHEREAS, due to the factor of increased costs, the amount
of this revolving fund has proven inadequate; and
WHEREAS, further, financing projects are now set up
in the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund, and the said
Bridge Building Revolving Hand has had no activity in it
since 1961; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works and the City
Comptroller feel it is desirable that they be authorized to proceed
to liquidate this fund, now, ih erefore, be it
RESOLVED, That on the recommendation of the Comptroller
and the Commissioner of Public Works, the proper rCity officers
are hereby authorized to take the necessary steps to liquidate
the aforesaid t Revolving Fund of $22,500C
and to credit s uch amount to a separate activity, Account
